Adult Forum with Joyce Henderson
Adult Forum: November 15 at 10:10 AM
In 1958, Clara Luper – civic leader, retired schoolteacher and pioneer in the American Civil Rights movement – was one of the first people in this country to protest policies of segregation during a peaceful sit-in at Katz Drug Store. Thirteen of her young students joined in, and Joyce Henderson was one of them.
Since then Dr. Henderson has become a leader in civil rights in this state, and the longtime local educator has been with St. Paul’s for every Martin Luther King Day here since we began hosting these events.
Come and hear how her leadership is impacting Oklahoma City in a significant way, and how she has changed hearts and minds.
